You've Got Help

On Sunday, January 27 our pastor preached on this topic. The focus thought was from Matthew 8. In verses 23-27 we read that Jesus was asleep when he was awaken by his fearful disciples saying, "...Lord, save us; we perish." Jesus "...rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm." It's amazing how they just saw Jesus do three miracles before they boarded the ship, yet they had no faith that they would survive the storm.

Another take away from this story starts at verse 1. You'll see from verses 1-22 that Jesus performed healing for three people. Doing the work of God can sometimes take your virtue, and this is what happened to Jesus. He just wanted a bit of sleep to replenish. This should be a lesson to us all to take time to rest. What an amazing God. Jesus was both fully human and fully divine at the same time. As God he healed, but as a man he became tired and needed rest (Heb. 4:15). What a mighty God we serve!

It's wonderful to know and be reminded I have help! Serving God is not hard; it can be challenging however, because we have the enemy, this wicked world with all of its distractions, and our flesh to contend with. I really do appreciate the word of God that keeps me anchored and helps me to know that Jesus is my help through all of my storms. I bless His Holy Name🙌🏿!!
